The 142nd Myanmar South Sea Pearl Emporium’s third day was held yesterday morning at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the morning, local and international gem traders explored the displayed sets of pearls at their leisure. Following this, bids were placed for pearl sets ranging from Lot 231 to Lot 345 and from Lot 346 to Lot 460, with traders submitting their price offers into the designated bidding boxes.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, who is chairman of the 142nd Myanmar South Sea Pearl Emporium’s central committee and Vice-Chairman of the central committee U Min Thu, observed the auction process conducted through an open-bidding system at the gem hall.
Subsequently, bids from Lot 3 and Lot 4 were opened, revealing that 230 sets of pearls had been auctioned off, with 184 sets sold.
On the fourth day of the emporium, pearl sets from Lot 461 to Lot 580 total 120 sets, and from Lot 581 to Lot 700, totalling 120 sets, will continue to be auctioned to local and international traders.
