Yangon residents continue their journey to Ywangan and Pindaya staying at Kalaw

Many visitors from Yangon Region have taken vacation in Kalaw, from there, they’ve continued touring Ywangan and Pindaya, according to residents.

Recently, many visitors from Yangon have flocked to Ganankya Waterfall, the Blue Lake and Mainmaye Mountain located between Kalaw and Ywangan, by staying at Kalaw.

“Yangon residents come to Kalaw and on the next day, they go to Ganakya Waterfall in Ywangan, and visit the Blue Lake and Mainmaye Mountain during their return, and come back to Kalaw for overnight stay after visiting Pindaya. It takes a day to come to Kalaw from Yangon and they spend a day to visit Kalaw, Ywangn and Pindaya and another day to visit around Kalaw such as Palaung Hill, so it is four days and three nights,” said an official from Aye Change Myae travel agency.

At the same time, local visitors from Ayeyawady Region have gone to visit Bago Region as well as overnight trip to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.

“Kalaw is major destination for most of Yangon residents and Ayeyawady residents take an  overnight trip to Kyaiktiyo and Bago Region. It rains in Kyaiktiyo but it is not much cold like Kalaw. There are people going on vacation during this period,” he said.

Due to being monsoon season, the visitor arrival has been low, however, local visitors across the country have taken trip to Kalaw’s famous tourist destinations such as Kalaw View Point and Hnee Phaya, by either connecting with local travel companies or by private cars. – Thit Taw/ZS
