Yangon-Mawlamyine train resumes service on 3 August

After the water dropped back in the Bago railway station yard, Yangon-Mawlamyine trains will resume on 3 August, according to Mawlamyine Railway Station.
It is now safe to use the railway after the water drops and the No 82 down train departing from Mawlamyine and the No 81 up train departing from Yangon will resume on the regular timetable, it announced.
No 82 air-bag train will depart from Mawlamyine at 8:30 am on 3 August. Tickets are sold at Mawlamyine station’s ticket booking countre from 7 am to 3 pm, and upper-class tickets are being sold 2-3 days in advance.
The train schedule was cancelled on 29 July due to the flooded railroad at the No 60 bridge in the Bago station yard. Yangon-Mawlamyine railway is used by many rail passengers, and train schedules are always packed. — MT/ZS
