Japan to hire 1,300 Myanmar workers

In a statement issued on 31 July, the Myanmar Embassy in Japan says more than 400 Japanese companies will recruit up to 460 Myanmar male workers and 870 Myanmar female workers.
It is the statement about 415 demand letters that the embassy submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after verification until 17 June 2024.
The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the statement.
It verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories or companies that offer jobs in Japan are officially established and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement on 15 July, more than 400 Japanese companies would provide jobs for up to 400 Myanmar male workers and up to 900 Myanmar female workers, totalling 1,400. — MT/ZS/ED
