A scam message.

There are fake Facebook accounts and pages which mislead people as if they were parahita groups, so people should make proper inquiry before they make donation, Tharthananwe Foundation’s Sayadaw warned on his Facebook page.

As a gang, such fake accounts and pages are collecting money by using photos of poor children and adult patients, looking like they are monks and leaders of parahita groups, said Sayadaw.

Similarly, some scams work as fake accounts or pages of online shop.

Sayadaw said there is an account that looks like a woman often makes comment about scam messages below his post.

“I’m quite cautious. Scam messages were sent to me two or three times. The amount of prize they told is pretty worth but I know it is a scam,” he said.
