The Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers Association (MEODA) has announced that it will provide door-to-door distribution service of palm oil at the rate of two viss per household for one month.
In Yangon Region’s 44 townships, under the supervision of the Edible Oil Import, Storage and Distribution Supervision Committee, palm oil importing companies sell to the public through retail and wholesale shops on a daily and monthly basis.
Despite the current distribution, some households have difficulty in going to shops to buy palm oil, so for such a family to be able to buy palm oil for one month under quick home-delivery system, the Yangon Region Palm Oil Door-to-door Distribution Committee has planned to sell two viss per household per month, the MEODA announced on 30 July.
People can make orders by phones to call centres 01-2399222 (seven extensions) during 9am to 3:30pm from Monday to Saturday (excluding Sunday and public holidays) starting 31 July.
The at-cost price is based on the wholesale reference price published in the newspapers every Monday, without profit, and will be inclusive of bottle and bottling charges.
Delivery fee must be paid by the buyer who places the order, and the product will be sold only by cash on delivery system, and there is no need to make payment in advance. Product arrival date can be three days from the order date, the committee said.
