Myanmar’s Thet Htar Thuza lost in the first round of the women’s singles Badminton at the Paris Olympics yesterday, after defeating at 21-12, 21-10 by Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, ranked fifth in the world, on La Chapelle Arena Court 2.
Thet Htar Thuza posted on her social media to her fans that she thanked to those who came and applauded to her at the court and apologized to them, saying that she did not meet them after her competition against Akane Yamaguchi as she was undergone doping control to ensure fair competition.
The Myanmar badminton icon will take on Li Michelle from Canada at La Chapelle Arena Court 2, in Paris at midnight of 30 July Myanmar Standard Time (7:30 pm on 29 July 2024 French Standard Time in Paris). — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
