DMH forecasts water level fluctuations in rivers nationwide

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has announced that water levels in Myitkyina, Bhamo, Shwegu, and Katha are expected to rise by one to five feet in the coming days.
According to the DMH’s ten-day weather forecast for the Ayeyawady River, water levels in Myitkyina, Bhamo, Shwegu, and Katha are predicted to increase by one to five feet.
However, water levels are forecasted to decrease by three to six feet in Thabeikkyin, Mandalay, Sagaing, Myinmu, NyaungU, Pakokku, Chauk, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Pyay, Seiktha, Hinthada, and Zalun.
Additionally, the Chindwin River is forecasted to drop by six to eight feet in Khamti, Homalin, and Phaungpyin and by ten to twelve feet in Mawlaik, Kalewa, Mingin, Kani, and Monywa.
The Dokhtawady River is expected to rise by 1.5 to 2 feet in Hsipaw and Shwesayan. The Sittoung River is forecasted to rise by three to four feet in Toungoo and Madauk. The Shwegyin River is expected to rise by three feet in Shwegyin. The Bago River is forecasted to rise by two to three feet in Zaungtu and Bago. The Thanlwin River is expected to rise by two feet in Hpa-an. The Thaungyin River is forecasted to rise by three feet in Myawaddy. The Ngawun River is expected to rise by six inches in Pathein. The Bilin River is predicted to rise by four feet in Bilin.
Conversely, the Myittha River is expected to ebb by 2.5 feet in Kalay. The Dokhtawady River is forecasted to decrease by four feet in Myitnge. The Ngawun River is expected to fall by two to four feet in Ngathainggyoung and Thaboung. The Toe River is forecasted to drop by six inches in Maubin, according to the DMH. — TWA/TMT
