MoI Union Minister inspects renovation work on Mawgun film branch

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the renovation work on the former film branch building (Mawgun) in Bahan Township yesterday.
The official first clarified the location of the Mawgun film branch, land ownership, plans to be implemented for the development of the film industry and the preservation and renovation of the building in its original design.
The Union minister then provided instructions regarding the requirement to preserve the 100-year-old ancient building, training for the development of the film industry in the future, efforts of the government to ensure the development of the film industry and the need to cooperate with the government, and he inspected the renovation work.
The Mawgun film branch building was constructed in 1925 and it served as a facility for shooting, editing and producing Mawgun films, film censorship monitoring and reviewing for awarding the film academy awards. Currently, arrangements are being made for the preservation of the building and conducting film training. — MNA/KTZH
