MoIP Union Minister receives UNFPA Representative to Myanmar

The UNFPA Resident Representative calls on Union Minister U Myint Kyaing yesterday.

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing met Mr Jaime Nadal Roig, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Resident Representative to Myanmar and his delegation in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During the meeting, they emphasized that there has been constant support from UNFPA for correcting the census and population statistics for a long time. They also highlighted the work done on the national census conducted in 2014 with the joint efforts of the ministry and UNFPA.
The Union minister described the processing of visas and residence permits for international employees from UNFPA.
Efforts to collect the 2024 Census, population statistics obtained and use of information in national development activities and the assistance of UNFPA to Myanmar’s development activities were also discussed. — MNA/KZL
