June rice exports hit 3-month high at 162,326 tonnes, pocketing US$84M

In June of the financial year 2024-2025, 162,325.75 tonnes of rice and broken rice were exported, earning US$84 million, and this volume is the largest export in the first three months of this financial year, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF).
There were 42 rice and broken rice companies in June that exported 96,914.75 tonnes of rice and 65,410 tonnes of broken rice. Overseas trade accounted for 153,255.75 tonnes and border trade for 9,070 tonnes.
The destinations of Myanmar’s rice exports in June include Indonesia (53,818 tonnes), Italy (12,946 tonnes), Spain (12,920 tonnes), China (5,942 tonnes), Poland (4,125 tonnes) and 13 other countries ( (7,164 tonnes). Broken rice was exported to Belgium (26,550 tonnes), Indonesia (3,900 tonnes), Lithuania (650 tonnes), Italy (375 tonnes) and eight other countries (899 tonnes).
In the rice and broken rice sector of the financial year 2024-2025, Myanmar earned US$55 million from 111,862 tonnes of export in April, US$36 million from 71,279.5 tonnes of export in May, US$84 million from 162,325.75 tonnes of export in June, and US$175 million In total from the export of 345,467.3 tonnes, according to the MRF. — MT/ZN/ED
