A Myanmar national killed himself in Malaysia a month ago and his body has still remained unclaimed until now, Myanmar Free Funeral Service in Malaysia’s chairperson U San Win told the Global New Light of Myanmar (GNLM).

He committed suicide by jumping down the balcony of a house in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on 1 June, so far, contact has still lost with family and friends.

“According to his passport, he is identified as Chan Phar and native is Lashio. It is a middle-age man. The body was sent to hospital after he died but nobody came to inquiry. The body still remains at the hospital for more than a month,” said U San Win.

Family’s consent is required to cremate the body.

“Contact is still lost with the family. The hospital requested us to help finding any of contacts of him. In here, if something happens, people mostly say “I don’t know” because they’re afraid of getting involved in. They don’t want to say who it is or who is contact, unlike people do in Myanmar. That makes such cases harder,” he said.
