Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin meets officials at Upper Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Control Station and the Southeast Asia Oil and Gas Pipeline Main Control Station in Mandalay.

Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin conducted inspection at the Upper Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline Control Station and the Southeast Asia Oil and Gas Pipeline Main Control Station in Mandalay on 30 June.
The visit began with discussions on oil exploration activities and future projects in Upper Myanmar. Topics included planned upcoming work, the delivery of natural gas to Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise by the CNG general manager for vehicles, and the annual inspection status of compressed natural gas vessels conducted by the Mandalay Retest Factory. The managing director concluded the session with an additional presentation, followed by remarks and discussions added by the Union Minister.
Additionally, the Union minister inspected the Southeast Asia Oil and Gas Pipeline Main Control Station in Mandalay, responsible for overseeing the distribution of oil and natural gas for the Shwe CNG project and the Madekyun oil storage station. The station’s chairperson and officials provided explanations about the facility’s operations and processes.
In his comments, the Union minister underscored the mutual benefits of the Southeast Asia Oil and Natural Gas Pipeline project for both Myanmar and China. He highlighted that the current pipelines are operating at approximately 50 per cent capacity and stressed the advantages of increasing their utilization for both nations. The Union minister called for enhanced cooperation to achieve this objective. — MNA/ TRKM
