MoHT Deputy Minister heads for Philippines to attend 36th CAP-CSA Joint Meeting

Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe is seen leaving for the Philippines yesterday.

At the invitation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Tourism Organization and the Secretary of the Department of Tourism of the Philippines, Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe left for the Philippines yesterday to attend the 36th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (36th CAP-CSA) and First UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific which will be held from 26 to 28 June 2024 in Cebu, the Philippines.
The tourism forum will include networking with fellow members of the United Nations Tourism Organization, a ministerial dialogue and a discussion on when gastronomy meets the territory Insights by Asia Pacific Destinations.
The forum will also feature discussions on the FAO Mountain Partnership project, reducing food waste and using more local produce, and the successes of food tourism in Asia and the Pacific. — MNA/KZL
