Discussions underway for sister city agreement for Yangon & Chongqing

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that talks on signing an MoU to establish sister cities between Yangon and Chongqing took place in Chongqing, China, on 21 June.
U Kyaw Zay Yar Lin, Myanmar’s Consul-General in Chongqing, met with Ms Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government, at the Foreign Affairs Office in Chongqing on the same day.
During the meeting, both parties discussed enhancing practical cooperation between Myanmar and Chongqing Municipality in areas such as economics, education, people-to-people exchanges, cultural activities, and the upcoming signing of the MoU to formalize sister city relations between Chongqing Municipality and Yangon City this year. — ASH/TMT
