SAC honours a monk from Bangladesh with Mahasaddhamma Jotikadhaja title this year

Myanmar’s ambassador to Bangladesh U Kyaw Soe Moe offers the title of Mahasaddhamma Jotikadhaja to Venerable Bhaddanta Paññavamsa.

The State Administration Council honoured Venerable Bhaddanta Paññavamsa of Sakkya Muni Missionary Monastery in Khagrachari District, Bangladesh, with the title of Mahasaddhamma Jotikadhaja this year, and Myanmar’s ambassador to Bangladesh U Kyaw Soe Moe, offered the title and its insignia to the monk at the Myanmar Embassy in Dhaka on 21 June.
Ambassador U Kyaw Soe Moe and his wife, Myanmar’s Military Attaché to Bangladesh (Army, Navy, Air) Brig-Gen Soe Nyunt and his wife, staff of the embassy and the office of the military attaché and their family members, as well as five members of the Sangha from Dhaka and Chittagong attended the ceremony, during which the embassy donated day meals to members of the Sangha. — ASH/TH
