A special programme to extend the passports of the first 300 nationals out of 900 people who have registered to renew their passports will be launched on coming Sunday, according to Myanmar Embassy in Singapore.

The names and appointment time for these 300 people on 23 June were announced on the embassy’s website and they were requested to come to the embassy according to the schedule.

The renewal programme for the remaining 600 nationals will be announced on the embassy’s website on 26 June.

The embassy regularly provides passport extension service to about 120 nationals via online appointment and about 75 via WhatsApp appointment on a daily basis, it said.

Due to the difficulty of making an appointment on the embassy’s website and the availability of days off from work, the embassy found that many Myanmar nationals were waiting for passport extension. Therefore, passport renewal service will be provided under a special arrangement to about 200 nationals with passport expiry dates up to 31 August 2025, and the renewed passports will be issued on 25 to 27 June from 1 pm to 3 pm, the embassy had also said on 31 May.
