Myanmar joins ASEAN Secretary-General at Washington Committee Meeting

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar’s Chargé d’Affaires U Thet Win participated in a meeting between the Secretary-General of ASEAN and the ASEAN Committee in Washington (ACW) on 10 June.
The ACW hosted a lunch for ASEAN Secretary-General Dr Kao Kim Hourn at the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington. U Thet Win, along with ASEAN ambassadors and chargés d’affaires from other ASEAN embassies, attended the working lunch.
During the lunch, the Malaysian ambassador provided an overview of ACW activities. The ASEAN Secretary-General also discussed ASEAN’s developments, unity, centrality, and priorities. Participants then exchanged views on the ASEAN-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, its future prospects, ways to enhance relations and ASEAN-US cooperation. — ASH/TMT
