Kyaikto hospital records first birth of newborn with imperforate anus

At Kyaikto Township Hospital in Mon State, an infant with an imperforate anus was born for the first time.
The baby was given birth on 9 June as the fifth delivery at the hospital.
A pregnant woman for the fifth delivery at the hospital gave birth to a child with an imperforate anus today. It is the first-ever case at our hospital, Kyaikto Hospital stated.
The parents of the baby are from a village in Kyaikto, and except for the imperforate anus, it is a healthy newborn, the hospital said. With a referral letter, the baby was transferred to a hospital where a specialist is assigned, it added.
The imperforate anus treatment includes colostomy, making an anal opening and closing the opening in the abdomen, the hospital said. — MT/ZS/ED
