Union Information Minister coordinates preparations for 5th National Sports Festival

A coordination meeting on the holding of the Fifth National Sports Festival was held in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn first said the Fifth National Sports Festival will be held on a grand scale at Wunna Theikdi Stadium from 9 to 20 December.
The meeting will discuss proper plans for opening and closing ceremonies and suitable activities for previous sports festivals, and the 2013 SEA (Southeast Asian) Games should be applied for the event.
He continued that the opening ceremony would be held splendidly, and the closing ceremony would feature football matches at the National Sports Festival, honouring songs and performances.
The National Sports Festival is a festival that carries the whole essence of the national spirit and is a sign to symbolize patriotism. Therefore, it will be held to be proud of being Myanmar people and get a feeling like watching the previous SEA Games.
He added that the essence of a festival depends on the opening ceremony as it conveys patriotism, unity, and willingness to develop the country for all, and he called for full participation.
Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant and other attendees discussed the opening and closing event plans (draft), Free Fall carrying State Flag for the opening event, entertainment programmes, 17 estimated programmes for the opening ceremony, performances, stage decoration and lighting system.
