New vehicle ownership rules mandate inspections from 4 June

According to the Road Transport Administration Department, vehicle inspections will be required from 4 June for any changes in vehicle ownership.
Regardless of the vehicle’s licence status, inspections must be conducted when changing the owner’s name. Additionally, motorcycles, three-wheeled motorcycles, and three-wheelers will also need to undergo inspections.
As of 31 May 2024, there are a total of 6,180,881 registered vehicles, categorized by ownership type, vehicle type, and fuel type, according to the statistics of the Road Transport Administration Department. — TWA/TKO
