DSW enrols disabled students in Yangon and Mandalay Schools

The Department of Social Welfare (DSW) has been recruiting students with special needs through the schools for youths with disabilities in Yangon and Mandalay.
The schools have been providing vocational training and caring services for children aged six to 18 years with intellectual disability and physical limitations.
Those with down Syndrome, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),  Global Development Delay (GDD), Amputee, Cerebral Palsy and other intellectual disabilities can attend those schools.
Students must be single. Schools have religious freedom and no gender or race discrimination. Young people aged six to 18 years old can enrol in the school. Their parents or guardians can undertake the application process.
The school’s admission for the 2024-2025 academic year has started. Candidates must present four passport-sized photos, birth certificate and its copy, household registration and its copy, the document identifying diagnosis and health documents. The old students can enrol starting in the second week of May. The newcomers can register from the third week of May.
The schools teach them how to perform activities of daily living independently and adapt to society around them, and offer vocational training, primary education and Basic Education High School.
The school in Yangon is located at No 65 Kyaikwyne Pagoda Street, Mayangon Township. The school in Mandalay is at No 26 Street between 58 and 59 Streets, Aungmyaythazan Township.
