Mandalay women, Shan men champion in Inter-State/Region Volleyball Tournament 2024

State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presents Championship trophies to the Shan State men’s team and Mandalay Region women’s team at yesterday’s event.

Shan State men’s team and Mandalay Region women’s team clinched titles in the Inter-State/Region Volleyball Tournament 2024, held from 7 to 16 May in Nay Pyi Taw.
In the final match of the women’s event, the Yangon Region team and the Mandalay Region team played and put pressure on each other in turns. Finally, the Mandalay Region team thrashed the Yangon Region team 3-0.

In the men’s event, Shan and Kayin state teams poured out their utmost efforts to win over each other. Finally, the Shan State team beat the Kayin State team 3-1.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing presented cash awards and championship trophies to the Shan State men’s team and Mandalay Region women’s team and cordially greeted players at the prize-awarding ceremony at Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium C in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo presented individual medals to the Champion Mandalay Region women’s team and Shan State men’s team.
SAC members and Union ministers presented cash awards and individual medals to second- and third-prize winning men’s and women’s teams and best player award winners.
The tournament aims to further cement friendly relations among players from regions and states, turn out selected national players and improve Myanmar’s volleyball standard.
A total of 13 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams participated in the ISR Volleyball Tournament 2024. — MNA/TTA
