MEXT scholarship 2025 applications open on 23 April

Application for Research Students Scholarship Programme 2025, which will be provided by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), will be accepted as of 23 April, Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) announced.
MAJA said it would continue to announce the application acceptance date for the undergraduate student programme, college of technology student programme and specialized training college student programme when it receives notification from MEXT.
Detailed information, including an application form and requirements, can be downloaded at https://www.studyinjapan.go.jp/en/smap-stopj-applications-research.html and according to MEXT’s guidelines, those only living in Myanmar at present are eligible to apply.
Google form registration will be accepted from 2 April to 23 April before 4 pm, and document submission is scheduled to be received before 4 pm from 23 April to 30 April.
For Google Form registration on the research student programme, applicants have to fill in data on https://forms.gle/EJ3XyWtGxJIHoBic7 within the specified date and time and submission of documents have to be addressed to the MAJA office at No 2B (4), Snow Garden Housing, Thumingala Street, Thingangyun township in Yangon, in person or via a represented person or by post or by express mail, before 4 pm by 30 April.
The list of candidates who are eligible to sit for the test will be released on 6 May 2024, and the written test is set to be held on 11 May. The Japanese Embassy to Myanmar will have a test for shortlisted candidates, and detailed information will be sent by email on 6-7 May.
