“Seikkyi-Khanaungto bridge is shorter than Dala bridge, so it is expected to be finished earlier. Flooring work hasn’t seen yet. Transportation between the two townships will be eased and that will please residents when the bridge completes,” a writer as well as a Dala resident told the Global News Light of Myanmar (GNLM).

The bridge construction also includes Gyobyu water pipeline project which aims to provide freshwater for Dala and as it is also planned to connect with Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge, it will take just 20 minutes to travel from Seikkyi-Khanaungto to Yangon downtown.

The bridge will be 740 meters long and have a two-lane steel arch bridge.

The bridge will have a 28 feet wide motorway. The sidewalk will be 1.6 feet wide on each side, and the water clearance will be 49 feet high and 459 feet wide, and it can withstand 75 tonnes of loads.

The construction of the bridge crossing the Twantay Canal began on 8 September 2020 with Union Budget K34billion. Construction works are expected to finish in March 2025.
