Trekking season at Mount Taung Wine in Mawlamyine, Mon State, to conclude by end of February

The trekking season at Mount Taung Wine in Mawlamyine, Mon State, will conclude at the end of February, according to local charitable organizations. The season typically begins in December and ends in February, attracting travellers from both near and far this year.
Visitors are allowed to trek the mountain on foot from 5 am to 9 am, with motorcycle and car parking available at the mountain’s base free of charge. Moreover, the entry path has been widened from 14 feet to 24 feet to enhance the convenience of trekkers.
The Sasana Nwe Foundation has advised Mount Taung Wine visitors to refrain from smoking while walking, to dispose of rubbish properly in designated bins, and for vendors not to conduct sales activities on the concrete road. Additionally, they are encouraged to avoid selling alcohol, beer, and food with strong cooking odours.
At present, the area experiences a high number of locals engaging in trekking activities during both morning and evening hours. This activity not only benefits health but also offers a breathtaking view of clouds from the peak. — TWA/NT/NN
