The Myanmar national team will compete in two major international competitions this year. After the World Cup second-round qualifiers, they will compete again in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup, the most advanced competition in the ASEAN region.
Team Myanmar, participating since last year, will compete again in March and June for the remaining group matches of the 2026 World Cup Asia Zone Second Stage Qualifiers. The Myanmar squad has four remaining games in the second round of qualifying.
They will have to play a home game against the Syrian team and an away game in March. The team will have to play at home against the Japanese and away against the North Korean teams in June. The Myanmar national team will also compete in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup at the end of the year.
Michael Feichtenbeiner, a German national, is handling the Myanmar national team as the head coach, conducting the team’s training twice from the second week of January to the first week of February and playing three friendly matches against local clubs.
