Myanmar’s pulses exports in Jan last week bag US$23.42 mln

The pulses were mainly exported to India, Pakistan and the UAE.

Myanmar exported about 26,860 tonnes of various pulses worth US$23.429 million in the last week of January 2024, the Ministry of Commerce’s statistics showed.
The pulses were mainly exported to India, Pakistan and the UAE. Approximately 13,240 tonnes of black gram worth $12.551 million were shipped to India, Pakistan, the UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Viet Nam, and Indonesia. Additionally, over 7,900 tonnes of green grams with an estimated value of $5.08 million were delivered to foreign trade partners through maritime trade, while 102 tonnes of green grams were sent to China through land borders.
Similarly, more than 5,600 tonnes of pigeon peas worth $5.729 million were sent to India by sea. —TWA/KK
