Non-stop visits by local travellers to famous destinations in Kalaw Township

The visiting of local travellers has been non-stop in famous tourist attraction sites of Kalaw township in Shan State, according to car rental services in Kalaw.

“There are loads of places to visit in our town. Popular tourist destinations in Kalaw are Byake Taung, view of sea of clouds and Palaung Hill’s viewpoint where Palaung ethnic people are living. There are non-stop travellers,” said an official from a car rental service in Kalaw.

In addition to these places, there are also non-stop visits to other popular places such as natural cultivation fields and Myitnadi natural cave, according to residents.

The arrival of foreign tourists in Kalaw rose before Covid-19 happened, at that time, foreigners used to take overnight trekking tours to Inle and Palaung Hill’s viewpoint by staying at hotels and motels in Kalaw.

The most crowded festival in Kalaw is Tazaungdaing Festival and at present, there are celebrations of traditional festivals including novitiation ceremonies, according to residents.
