The 76th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection examination turned out the 16th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Sayadaw.
16th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title recipient Sayadaw Bhaddanta Paññasiri Lankara, who emerged as a prominent religious figure, served as a monk at the Tipitaka Nikaya Monastery in Dagon Township, Yangon Region. The Sayadaw, aged 59 and vasa 39, set for the 33-day selection examination from 26 December 2023 to 27 January 2024.
At the examination, candidates have to join the oral tests for two treatises of the first session of Vinaya Pitaka genre, three treatises of the second session of Vinaya Pitaka genre, three Digha Nikaya treatises in Suttanta Pitaka genre, first five treatises of Abhidhamma Pitaka genre and two treatises of the second session of Abhidhamma Pitaka genre for Tipitakadhara title and the writing test for Tipitakakovida title.
The Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida selection examination started in 1948, and the first-ever Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title recipient Sayadaw was Mingun Sayadaw. Since then, a total of 15 Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title recipient Sayadaws have come out till the 75th examination. — TWA/KZW
