Myanmar’s Consul-General attends Myanmar Cultural Exchange Event at Guangxi Minzu University

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consul-General of Myanmar in Nanning attended the Myanmar Cultural Exchange Event held at Guangxi Minzu University in Nanning, China, on 17 January.
The Consul-General of Myanmar in Nanning U Kyaw Soe Thein attended the event, organized by Guangxi Minzu University’s Myanmar Language Department for first- and second-year students majoring in Myanmar at the university, and discussed Myanmar cultural topics.
Party Committee Deputy Secretary Ms Wei Xuefang and the Consul-General of Myanmar gave their opening remarks at the event. Daw Wati Thwin, a visiting professor from the Department of Myanmar Language of the university, presented Myanmar language books translated by the department to the Consul-General. Head of the International Relations Department Mr Feng Guanghuo, deputy head of the Department Mr Zhang Yuzhen, Southeast Asian Language and Culture College Party Secretary Mr He Bo and 30 students also attended the event.
The Consul-General of Myanmar also presented Thar Kaung Taman magazine and other books, miniature replicas of Myanmar musical instruments such as harps and xylophones, and videos on Myanmar tourism promotion to the department. He also presented topics on Myanmar culture with slides before answering the questions raised by the students. Myanmar Consulate-General Nanning served the attendees with Myanmar traditional foods of Mohinga and sticky oil-rice. — ASH/TH
