Wooden bicycle constructed in Taungup has gone viral on the internet and similar new creations will be produced, said Ko Zaw Min Tun who invented the wooden bicycle.

It draws attention from internet users and some inquired about price, he said. Price has yet to be set and if there are interested buyers, he will set a price depending on buyer’s demand and cost, he said.

“There are inquires about price. If I have orders, I will invent for commercial sale. I am delighted that people like the creation I have made. The first invention was made with wood pieces I have at my home, so I haven’t made calculation for cost. I had to buy just some items I needed. If there are potential buyers, I will fix a price depending on what customer wants and cost,” said Ko Zaw Min Tun.

He made the wooden bicycle to pedal lightly on regular speed, he said.

He has been planning to create a similar one in a new design in next few days and iron axle will be used to ensure its durability, he explained.

“I am going to make another one professionally in a new design that everyone can ride and have durability in a couple of days. This bike was made up of wood completely, so I will use iron axle in my next creation to ensure withstanding rough handling,” he said.

He made a creation of wooden bicycle when he was 12 years old but didn’t reach the stage the capability of pedalling, and he resumed the creation when he was over 40 years for the first time due to shortage of job opportunity, he said.
