Taxis without yellow sideline stickers face fines from 1 Feb

The Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC) has announced that taxis operating in the Yangon region without yellow sideline stickers will face penalties and wheel tax starting from 1 February.
The installation of yellow sideline stickers on taxis commenced on 12 October 2023, and the educational period was from 1 November 2023 to 31 January 2024.
As of 23 December 2023, 75 per cent (approximately 42,000 vehicles) had been equipped with yellow sideline stickers. Currently, 55,227 out of the 58,481 city taxis have been registered with YRTC.
YRTC has instructed taxis from Bago and Ayeyawady Regions and Mon and Kayin States, which operate in the Yangon Region, to affix yellow stickers on both sides. — TWA/MKKS
