The Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) said that those who had passed two examinations –both Employment Permit System – Test of Proficiency in Korean (EPS-TOPIK)and Special EPS-TOPIK – would only be entitled to apply for a job once.
Some workers who had worked in South Korea and applied for a job after passing EPS-TOPIK examination were found to have passed Special EPS-TOPIK again.
Those who have passed both EPS-TOPIK and Special EPS-TOPIK at their own attempts can apply for a job only once and they must choose either EPS-TOPIK(Regular) or Special EPS-TOPIK.
The CBT examination (Special EPS- TOPIK) was held in 2023 for Myanmar workers who returned to Myanmar after working in South Korea for at least three years.
Participants in Special EPS- TOPIK examination must be between 18 and 39 years old. Those who have stayed in South Korea on E-9 and E-10 visas for more than five years, who have served prison sentences, who have been banned from leaving Myanmar, and who have been expelled or repatriated from another country are not eligible to take the examination.
