Sao San Tun General Hospital’s new five-storey building, University of Medicine (Taunggyi)’s four-storey facility inaugurated hailing 76th Independence Day

Union Minister for Health Prof Dr Thet Khaing Win attended the opening ceremonies of the new five-storey building of Sao San Tun General Hospital in Taunggyi and the four-storey building of the University of Medicine (Taunggyi) marking the 76th Independence Day yesterday.
During the event, the Union minister highlighted the establishment of new wards and school buildings aimed at benefiting the local ethnic people in Shan State, the significant role of Sao San Tun General Hospital, which was constructed with the help of the Soviet Union in 1957, as a key figure of Myanmar-Russia Friendship, and construction of the three-storey building in 2023-2024 financial year and the staff housing.
He also urged the health workers to serve their duties in perfect ways, treat the patients warmly, and make efforts to be reliable hospitals.
The Union minister and party also comforted the patients and inspected the medical treatment of the hospital.
The newly opened five-storey building of Sao San Tun General Hospital is constructed with over K2.5 billion of State budget, and the new four-storey building of the University of Medicine (Taunggyi) is built using K1,403 million, and the Master of Medical Science course is opened for 2024 academic year at University of Medicine (Taunggyi).
On the same afternoon, the Union minister and parity met with the faculty members and trainees at the Taunggyi Nursing Training School and Midwifery Training School and provided cash assistance. — MNA/KTZH
