Baseless claims: Misinformation surrounding pagoda donations exposed

It has been reported that the regional military headquarters seized K600 million intended for donating gold foils to the Shwemudaw Pagoda in Pathein. There are claims that the US dollars collected to expand the Mawtinsun Pagoda platform in Zeechai village, Hainggyikyun, were exchanged at K2,100 per dollar. It has been found that misinformation is spread through social media posts by the terrorist supporter Ayeyarwaddy Time.
According to an official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and another official from the Regional Military Headquarters, the funds donated for the pagodas have not been confiscated by any departmental organization. Instead, those are appropriately managed by the respective trustees. It is evident that the malicious media, which supports terrorism and spreads misinformation about religious stupas, is only circulating inaccurate reports. The subversive media intentionally fabricates and spreads misinformation and false claims aimed at undermining the country’s stability and creating misconceptions among the people. — MNA/KZW
