For tropical and subtropical crops and lime group crops, a memorandum of understanding signed with China will help improve production, said an official from Myanmar Fruit, Flower and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association.
The MoU was signed between Tropical and Subtropical Cash Crop Research Institute, Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Myanmar Representative Office of the Chamber of Commerce of Dehong Prefecture from China, Myanmar Seed Association and MFVP.
The MoU aims to cooperate in technology for crops in lime group as well as trainings on cooperation in tropical and subtropical crops such as coffee, macadamia, vegetable and pepper and study tours, researches and trading will be conducted.

“Crops in lime group are quite developed there. We can acquire their technologies. We have a plan to conduct long-term trainings. The signing of MoU will bring many benefits, especially it will assist better crop production and disease-resistant seeds will be available. There are many benefits for farmers,” said the official.
Through such cooperation, the country can identify its weaknesses and strengths, so that the strengths can be used to work better.
