Taunggyi Weaving and Vocational Training School announces 6-month weaving course

Starting from 1 January 2024, a six-month weaving course will be conducted at the Weaving and Vocational Training School in Taunggyi. The course will admit only 10 trainees for each of the two six-month courses per year, providing a comprehensive curriculum encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects.
The course will cover subjects such as textile design, textile analyses, hand threading, traditional weaving, and colour bleaching and dyeing. Applicants must be between 16 and 25 years old and have completed basic education at the primary school level. During the six-month training period, the government will arrange accommodation, providing an allowance of K30,000 per month. Upon completion of the course, job opportunities will be made available for the trainees in weaving businesses operating in Taunggyi and Inlay regions. — TWA/TKO
