Myanmar-Bangladesh border trade nets US$0.51 mln in Nov 1st week

Sittway and Maungtaw trade camps earned US$ 0.5108 million from exports to Bangladesh in the first week of November, according to the resources.
According to the data of the Customs Department, the Sittway trade camp made $0.3608 million worth of trade while export volume was $0.3458 million and import volume was valued at $0.015 million between 1 and 7 November.
Similarly, the Maungtaw trade camp made $0.0150 million worth of exports between 1 and 7 November. The estimated trade of the Maungtaw trade camp in November was $1.53 million and it carried out 9.80 per cent of its estimation.
The two border trade camps mainly export agricultural products, marine products and finished industrial goods to Bangladesh.
To promote bilateral trade between the two countries, Sittway and Maungtaw trade camps are established on the Myanmar and Bangladesh border to operate border trading processes. — TWA/KTZH
