ME to Viet Nam issues statement requesting arrival reports from Myanmar Nationals

Myanmar nationals arriving in Viet Nam are required to report their residence to the Myanmar Embassy in Hanoi.
The Myanmar Embassy announced the initiation of a process that includes the rescue of fishermen, repatriation to Myanmar, and the initial verification of citizenship in order to protect Myanmar citizens by law. This process may also involve the repatriation of victims of human trafficking in consultation with the relevant country.
The consular process takes months to complete, so the Myanmar Embassy has issued a statement asking Myanmar nationals to report that they are living in Viet Nam.
Sending information to Myanmar citizens can expedite consular activities, including legal protection and the safeguarding of citizen’s interests, resulting in faster completion.
Myanmar citizens, if they wish to report, can contact the Myanmar Embassy. According to the release, citizens can send information to the consular department by emailing [email protected]. — TWA/KZW
