China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) donated Panda Packs containing 21 kinds of personal items, stationaries and other accessories to 4,709 basic education primary level students of 27 monastic schools in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The donation ceremony was organized at Yadana Hman Monastery in Pyinmana Township of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday and attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Deputy Minister U Aye Tun, Nay Pyi Taw Council Member U Myint Soe, the director-general and officials of CFRD.
First, they took Five Precepts from Nay Pyi Taw Sangha Nayaka Committee Chairman Dr Bhaddanta Munikumara.
Then, the Union minister explained the donation that describes bilateral relations between Myanmar and China.
Next, Country Director Ms Lin Yuan of CFRD said the Panda Pack project is an effort to establish a close relationship between the two countries and it was initiated in 2009 in China. Currently, the CFRD provides nearly 500,000 Panda Packs in 12 regions and states for students and their families.
At the ceremony, the Union minister and party also offered a day meal to Sayadaws. — MNA/KTZH
