YCDC collaborates with Chinese experts to reconstruct new Aung San Stadium

The project team from China Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tongji University (Group) Co Ltd met officials from the Yangon City Development Committee to discuss the reconstruction of Aung San Stadium on 25 October.
During the meeting, they discussed Aung San Stadium’s land, building design, water usage, and wastewater disposal. The head of the Engineering Department (Building) and officials stated that the Yangon City Development Committee will ensure compliance with the requirements outlined on the YCDC website, MNBC 2020 standards, and the Yangon City Development Law 2018 for the project team’s review.
Upon the completion of the Aung San Stadium reconstruction, the main stadium will be capable of accommodating over 30,000 spectators, and the indoor stadium can host an audience of 3,000.
The construction of Aung San Stadium commenced in 1906, originally known as BBA (Burma Athletic Association) Ground. It was later renamed Aung San Stadium on 17 October 1953. — TWA/KZW
