Taninthayi Region sets sights on tourism, resort development across 40 islands

During a meeting with the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation on 30 September, the Taninthayi Region Chief Minister announced that the tourism

and resort industries are actively being developed on 40 islands within Taninthayi Region.
Among more than 800 islands in Taninthayi Region, these 40 islands feature renowned pagodas, resort hotels, and stunning beaches, making them appealing to both local and foreign tourists.
Currently, there are 60 hotels and lodging houses offering a total of 2,433 rooms. Additionally, two companies are involved in the construction of hotels and recreational facilities on eight islands. — TWA/CT
