MoI UM attends 7th AMRI+3 meeting in Viet Nam

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn participates in the Seventh Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Ministers Responsible for Information yesterday.

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn together with Information Ministers of ASEAN+3 attended the 7th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Ministers Responsible for Information (7th AMRI+3) in Da Nang, Viet Nam yesterday.
At the meeting, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Mr Nguyen Manh Hung, Chinese Minister of the State Council Information Office Mr Sun Yeli, Director-General Mr Nomura Eigo of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan and South Korean Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry Mr Nam Chanwoo delivered remarks respectively.
The host Viet Nam reported on the implementation of the Work Plan on Enhancing ASEAN+3 Cooperation through Information and Media (2018-2023), and Ministers from ASEAN+3 countries discussed extending the work plans until 2025.
Moreover, they also approved the joint media statement (draft) on the 16th AMRI and related meetings.
They set the strategies to improve the quality of human resource development, to deepen the media cooperation and upgrade the media network including New Media and agreed to extend the work plan until 2025.
Next, Brunei which will host the 8th AMRI+3 declared the date and venue of the meeting and then, the ceremony successfully concluded.
During the trip, the delegates made a study tour of the remarkable places in Da Nang with the arrangement of the government of Viet Nam.
They visited Bana Hill over 40 km away from Da Nang downtown taking the single-track cable car that is 5,800 metres in length. There is a tourist destination resort the Old French Villas. The delegates peacefully visited the castle, 150 metres long Golden Bridge and other tourist attractions.
The delegates then joined the dinner hosted by Da Nang officials on the same evening. –MNA/KTZH
