Over 430 Myanmar workers under EPS leave for ROK in Sept

A total of 434 Myanmar workers were legally sent to the Republic of Korea through the Employment Permit System (EPS) in September, according to a statement from Myanmar’s Embassy in Seoul.
Those Myanmar workers are to be engaged in manufacturing, agriculture and livestock industries.
Under the EPS, 142 new workers for the manufacturing industry on 5 September, 105 for the manufacturing industry on 6 September, 40 for the agriculture and livestock industry and 147 for manufacturing on 12 September, including 126 new workers and 22 experienced workers with re-entry permits.
The labour attaché of the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul welcomed them at the Incheon Airport and intimated the do’s and don’ts and work etiquette to them and fulfilled their needs.
The ROK decided to recruit 100,000 foreign workers in 2023 under the EPS, with 75,000 designated for manufacturing businesses, 14,000 for agriculture and livestock, 7,000 for fisheries, 3,000 for construction and 1,000 for service industries. — TWA/EM
