Myanmar short film selected for Busan International Film Festival

Director Sein Hlyan Htun announced that his short film, titled ‘Myaw Ta Lwint Lwint,’ has been selected for the Wide Angel Asian Short Film Competition at the Busan International Film Festival. The festival is scheduled to take place in Busan, South Korea, from 4 to 13 October.
The Myanmar short film, ‘Myaw Ta Lwint Lwint,’ is set in Paris, France, and tells the story of a Myanmar man who arrives in Paris with many traumas and finds love.
“The short film, shot amidst strangers in downtown Paris, was chosen for the Wide Angel Asian Short Film Competition at the Busan Film Festival, the largest film festival in Asia. Ko Latt, who plays the main character in this film, dedicated four days to the filming process. I am grateful for his dedication, as it greatly contributed to the film,” said Director Sein Hlyan Htun.
Additionally, Director Sein Hlyan Htun previously won an International Competition award with his film ‘Pyay Lyaut Nway’ at Clermont-Ferrand 2021 in France. This film has also been screened at Winterthur 2021 in Switzerland, the Leiden Shot 2022 International Short Film Festival in the Netherlands, and the Locarno Filmmakers Academy, which is a programme of the Locarno Film Festival 2022 in Switzerland. — ASH/MKKS
