Research, technologies, and the knowledge of standards needed by micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the food manufacturing sector will be provided by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the ministry stated.
Through the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund Project 2020, food production technologies are being shared with MSME enterprises. The MoST stated that technologies are being used to assist MSME enterprises in producing food products as per the standards, including not only traditional products but also new products using new technologies.
It is said that further assistance on research, technologies, and knowledge of standards necessary to ensure the continuous improvement of the MSME sector, the development of people’s socio-economic lives, and the promotion of the export sector of MSMEs will also be provided.
The Food Production Technology Dissemination Programme was activated to use international-level technologies to produce food products with high quality and standards following the guidelines of the Central Committee for Development of Micro-, Small-, and Medium -sized Enterprises.
It is also known that 100 MSME entrepreneurs from Yangon Region, Bago Region, Ayeyawady Region, Kayin State, Mon State, and Taninthayi Region will be provided with knowledge on six new food production technologies and standards. — ASH/CT
