Health Minister meets IOM Head to discuss healthcare collaboration

The IOM Chief calls on Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win yesterday.

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win received Mr Dragan Aleksoski, the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and his delegation at the ministry’s reception hall yesterday morning.
During the meeting, they discussed the collaborative maternal and child healthcare initiatives between the IOM and the Ministry of Health, along with activities related to nutrition development. Additionally, they explored ways to enhance cooperation in preventing and treating malaria, tuberculosis, and sexually transmitted diseases.
They also explored possibilities for collaboration in catch-up vaccination programs targeting children from families of migrant workers, an initiative led by the Ministry. The conversation also touched upon matters concerning the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), as well as the potential for increased cooperation in healthcare endeavors across Mon, Rakhine, and Kayin States. — MNA/KZW
