The reception team of the International Art Centre (Mandalay) held a coordination meeting at the three-storey conference hall of the Mandalay Region Government Office on 25 August afternoon.
Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint, who serves as the Chairman of the International Art Centre (Mandalay) Building Reception Committee, first mentioned in his speech that two international art centres have been established in Yangon and Mandalay. The architectural plans for both centres have already been finalized. The construction of the Yangon Centre, which is currently underway, received approval from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. Regarding the Mandalay Centre, the Ministry of Information has taken over the project and will oversee its completion. The design of the building is being evaluated for quality assurance by a team designated by the Ministry of Information. It is essential to verify whether the dimensions and construction materials align accurately with the original design and budget stipulated in the contract. This ensures that the established quality standards have been met. It is necessary to assess whether the construction aligns with the specified standards.
The discussion then continued with Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung of the Ministry of Information and committee secretary U Aye Kywe. The participants engaged in further deliberations before the concluding speech by the deputy minister. The deputy minister and his team, accompanied by officials from the building reception team, also inspected the International Art Centre (Mandalay) building on 73rd Street, Chanmyathazi Township of Mandalay. — MNA/KZW
