The Myanma Port Authority has issued a warning that the Yangon River will experience an exceptionally high tide, exceeding 20 feet above the datum.
If the height of the Yangon River exceeds 20 feet above the datum between 30 August and 5 September, the people living near the river bank have been warned to make preparations in advance.
In 2014 and 2015, the water level in the Yangon River reached 22 feet above the baseline, and the warning stated that there was no cause for concern. — TWA/KZW
